If you care for or have cared for someone, your experience is exactly what Next of Kin needs to hear. Every story shapes what we build.
Every disabled person is more than their diagnosis. A diagnosis tells you something about how someone's brain or body works — it tells you almost nothing about who they are. We're looking for stories that capture the person behind the label: the things they love, the ways they communicate, the quirks that make them unmistakably themselves. The things that would take a new carer months to learn, if they learned them at all.
When a caregiver or long-term carer is no longer there, everything they know is at risk of being lost. We're also interested in stories about where things could go better — where a carer, given a little more context about who someone really is, might have found a way through.
Your story doesn't need to be polished. It just needs to be true.
